Blocklings Mod, which was inspired by the Blokkit mod, just simply adds one new mob that is a cute little guy called the blockling into the game. Your world on grass will be spawned randomly in most biomes (you can change the spawn rate in the config file). You can tame them with flowers and they will grow and level up as they attack other mobs in the world. Along with that they have their own little inventory where they can carry things for you, plus it is the place you apply upgrades to them.

How to Train Your Blockling:
So, when you begin your new world, what should you do first? Well, what you want to do is collect flowers for taming, sitting and healing your blockling, however not tall flowers as they do not work. Now you must begin your quest to try and track down said blockling. They spawn in most grassy biomes at a rate similar or a bit higher than normal animals. However, they are easy to miss as they tend to blend into their surroundings. Here is what they look like when you first find them:
Now you should whip out your flowers and right click on the blockling until the hearts appear, signalling that it has been tamed.
If you shift right-click with an empty hand you can see their stats, current xp etc.
Now you should probably get them levelled up. To do so, punch a nearby mob to get them to attack. However, stay clear from hostile mobs because the little guy only has 2 hearts, so isn’t fit for hostile mobs quite yet. When they do get hurt just right-click them with flowers again to heal them. If you are tackling a cave or something similar that is crawling with hostile mobs, you can shift right-click them with an empty hand to tell them to stay and not to follow or to attack.
Once your blockling has the required xp, then they shall level up. Upon doing so they will grow in size and a message will appear, along with their stats increasing too.
Also, upon levelling up, they will be able to access the next tier of blockling upgrade. What is this blockling upgrade though? Well, it is a way of strengthening your blockling and preparing him for tougher battles. Getting and applying the upgrade is easy. All you will need is the blockling upgrade itself (at level 2 the max is a wooden blockling upgrade). Crafting recipes are listed at the end so go check them out if you need them.
Anyway, once you have both you simply right-click with an empty hand onto your blockling to open their miniature inventory. Inside you will notice that they can carry up to six items which can be quite useful on a mining trip perhaps. Also there are two action slots for upgrades. So, if you just place the upgrade in the matching slot it will be used up but on exiting the inventory you will see that your blockling has changed. They now look the same as the upgrade you gave them, and they have improved stats.
One thing to bear in mind is that you must have applied the previous upgrade to get to the next so you can’t just wait for level 10 and add obsidian straight away. Also make sure your blockling is the required level, meaning level 2 for wooden, 3 for cobblestone and so on. The order is the same as the image above with obsidian being the best. Here is a level 10, obsidian blockling:
You may also have been wondering what the “Special Upgrades Remaining: 1” thing is. As well as blockling upgrades you also get special upgrades, and every 5 levels your blockling will gain the possibility for another special upgrade. These special upgrades are applied the same way as the blockling upgrades but in the other slot. Again crafting recipes are below.
There are currently nine upgrades, split into three different sets. You have damage, health and speed upgrades. You must apply the previous tier before the next and the tier three upgrades have a more rewarding upgrade. For damage it gives your blockling fire aspect like attacks that will incinerate all non-fire-resistant mobs, for health it gives them slow but steady regeneration and for speed it gives them super awesome dexterity allowing them to speed around their enemies and attack them from behind.
That is about it, apart from the crafting recipes, so I hope you enjoy and maybe even like it so much you might want to do a mod review or use it in a mudpack, because that would be awesome. Other than that, report any bugs you happen to find and tell me all your ideas as I will happily take them into consideration or try to find a way to adapt them to fit the theme.
All of them use their respective potions, so strength for damage, health for health (even in the tier 3) and swiftness for speed. Also the only work with the regular potions and only the first tier and cheapest potions are used, no others work.
