VoidCraft Mod is our interpretation of what lurks deep within the one of Minecraft’s oldest, yet mostly untouched environments: The infinitely expansive Void.
No plane in existence can escape being touched by the abyss that lies beneath their layer of bedrock… But despite it touching every world, entering it is no simple task. If anyone or anything tries to enter it from holes in bedrock, a destructive force will eat away at its material being. Though, if one could somehow survive falling through this violent barrier long enough, they might end up in the inner void. …Though making something that could withstand the void would probably take an exceedingly long time…
The easiest way to enter the void is to harvest Void Crystals from the Dimension closest to it: The End. Once there, one can search for Void Crystals bound to the native whitestone. Each ore will always drop 1 to 3 Void Crystals, regardless of one’s fortune. After gathering a large sum of Crystallized Void, combine nine of them together in a crafting table to form a Void Crystal Block. With these new blocks in hand, construct a portal frame and activate it by throwing Void into it from an Obsidian Flask. The Crystals will resonate with the void’s power, and create a portal that will safely transport matter into the inner void, bypassing the destructive protective layer that surrounds it.
After stepping through the portal, you’ll be in the Void, a black abyss where only powerful ethereal spirits can survive. All other creatures will slowly die in the hostile environment, including you. However, if you can brave the Void and infuse it’s ethereal essence with your tools, it could yield powerful results…
First and foremost, you’ll want to get your self the Void Vade Mecum.
This book provides in-game information about everything there is to know in the mod.
To obtain the book you’ll need to collect an Obsidian Flask. Proceed to throw the flask to create the Void Fire, from here you must toss a vanilla book into the fire. The Void Vade Mecum will now be in your possession.
While not on the main page, you’ll notice in the top left corner there will be yellow text displaying “Main”. If you hover over the left most part of the book, this is actually a button in which when clicked it will take you back to the main page. You may also right click to return back a single entry.
In order to actually travel to the Voidic Dimension you can do one of two things.
The First way is just jumping into the void and waiting long enough, it’ll teleport you quite high in the dimension if you even survive long enough but you’ll probably end up getting killed to fall damage.
Right, the second and recommended way is to travel to the End and search around for some Void Crystal Ores.
Upon mining this ore it’ll always drop between 1 and 3 crystals no matter what the tool’s enchantments were.
After collecting a decent amount of crystals you’ll want to turn them into block form
After doing so you then need to construct a Nether style portal frame
Now you might ask, how do I ignite this portal frame? Well that’s where the Obsidian Flask comes in. What is it? Well It’s a flask of void that when thrown (via right click) it creates a small explosion and releases voidic fire, don’t worry this doesn’t harm the world. The fire must be touching the inside of the portal frame in order to ignite it.
To fill the flasks you need to travel down to a low enough Y level and simply right click with one in hand. The specific Y level is 5 and below. Or if you’re already in the Void there’s no need for a specific Y level, the flasks will get filled at any location inside the dimension.
This should be enough information to actually get you started in the mod, if you want more information about the specifics of certain things then well, search below.
