Minecraft is an indie game created by a game development studio based in sweden called mojang then bought by Microsoft. It is an open world first person survival / creation game which is notable for the level of creative freedom given to its players. It is set in a infinitely expanding simulation of a medieval world made up entirely of one meter blocks in a wide verity. With these blocks you can create almost anything you can think of. In addition new blocks and tools can be crafted with natural materials you find.Minecraft Mods
A mod is a third party modification of the minecrafter to add new features or even to change the nature of the game. These changes include, adding new content, adding new game mechanics or fixing bugs that the original creator has not yet been able to eliminate in the unmodded or “vanilla” version of the game. In Minecraft there exist many different types of mods some turn the game into a dungeon crawling adventure, some make life easier for the player, some mods add new geographic locations or structures to the game and still other mods make it possible to build incredible machines.Texture Packs/Resource Packs
A texture pack/resource pack is a collection of textures that changes the appearance of Minecraft blocks, items and mobs such as cows and creepers (normally a texture pack will not affect a player’s avatars skin). A texture is a 2D image laid over a 3D object that gives the 3D object a definite design.
Texture packs then can have a major impact on how the player perceives their world for example a texture pack inspired by a cartoon may make the world seem more lite hearted where as a texture pack like Dokucraft may make the world seem more dark and intimidating.
Texture packs can also come in higher resolution then the default textures of Minecraft. For example, Soartex Fanver - Vanilla is a 64 X 64-texture pack meaning that each side of the block is 64 pixels high by 64 pixels wide this is double the default texture pack’s pixel count.
Now that you have been introduced to the concept of what a texture pack is and what it does. On this website you can find mod/texture packs... and apply them to your Minecraft files.
